Marisa has long been an advocate for higher learning, a passion that took root during her time at Andrew Hill High School. It was there that she met Mr. Jose Antonio Valdes, her calculus teacher and early mentor. With a growing interest in mathematics and technology, Marisa went on to be on site at Santa Clara University, where she became one of the first math tutors during the inaugural year of the Valdes Math program. Her dedication and expertise led to continued summer roles, ultimately culminating in a position as a data analyst for the program until she moved on to work in the world of tech industry.

Through her academic achievements and professional milestones, Marisa never lost sight of her roots or her desire to give back. Her journey reflects a deep commitment to education, hard work, and empowering others—principles that continue to guide her personal and professional life today.
