Activities
The various sites run a variety of activities for the students. Campus tours, lunchtime sports leagues and game rooms are common at all campus. At some we are able to arrange for swimming times for the students. Some colleges allow our classes access to the bowling alley in their student union. Talent shows and Battle of the Classes events are held the last week of the Institute. Finally, all sites have special programs set up for their Open Houses to inform parents of various aspects of the educational process.
Field trips and dance are also activities that students can participate in. Students can go to fun and exciting places such as the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the Egyptian Museum, San Francisco Giants, and the Ice Center in San Jose with free skating. All of the trips are sponsored through donations received by the Jose Valdes Math Foundation. Dances are attended by both students and parent chaperones. We plan to continue these projects with the support of parents and staff.
